Smuggler Sam's – A Taste of Kent's Colourful Past
One of our best-loved spirits, Smuggler Sam's Spiced Rum, takes its name from Samuel Jackson, a notorious 18th-century Kent smuggler known as 'Slippery Sam'.
With his network of tunnels beneath his home in Petham and his extraordinary escape from Maidstone Gaol, Sam certainly lived up to his nickname!
Handcrafted at The Foundry in Canterbury, our spiced rum is made from molasses, gently spiced with Madagascan vanilla, Spanish orange peel and six world spices, before being aged on Spanish oak.
Rich and warming, it's lovely enjoyed neat or with your favourite mixer. We also make Smuggler Sam's White Rum, a versatile choice for rum-based drinks.

Foundry Gamecock – Something Rather Special
Our Foundry Gamecock Dark Rum, a double gold World Rum Award winner, celebrates the restoration of the Whitstable Gamecock Oyster Yawl.
Restoring a traditional vessel takes time, care and attention to detail. We've brought that same patient approach to this rum, giving it a longer ageing journey through three casks: a first-fill bourbon cask, then virgin American oak, before finishing in a virgin English oak cask.
That English oak finish is an extremely rare choice for rum. Together with the extended ageing, it makes Gamecock a bottle for those who appreciate the craftsmanship behind a spirit and its connection to our local maritime heritage.
A Tropical Twist – Mango & Pineapple Rum
Our Seasonal Mango & Pineapple Rum takes things in a fruitier direction, bringing tropical flavours to the range. If you usually reach for spiced or dark rum, this is a chance to try a change of pace.
Introducing the Anno Rum Collection
Since welcoming Anno Distillers into our family, we've been delighted to bring its spirits alongside our Canterbury range. With unusual botanicals and thoughtful recipes, these three rums each have their own story to tell.
Owler Dark Spiced Rum
Anno Owler Dark Spiced Rum combines the deep flavour of black treacle with the warmth of tonka beans.
Its name draws inspiration from Kent's smuggling heritage, a connection it shares with our own Smuggler Sam.
Lady Franklin Golden Botanical Rum
Lady Franklin Golden Botanical Rum is inspired by Lady Jane Franklin, the 19th-century traveller, botanist and patron of exploration.
Fermented and distilled in Kent with a carefully selected blend of botanicals and spices, this golden rum pays tribute to her adventurous spirit and curiosity about the natural world.
Candlelight Pink Rhubarb Rum
Anno Candlelight Pink Rhubarb Rum celebrates the traditional practice of growing and harvesting forced rhubarb by candlelight.
Its vibrant pink colour and fruity character bring another side of British ingredients to the Anno range.
